  1. Best defense, crazy idea, don’t build on a barrier island or shore front. Anything built will eventually experience flooding and erosion.

  2. now include non-normal incident waves and allow for coastal erosion to see how protective/destructive certain designs are on beach sustainability.
    Lastly, I wonder hows susceptible individual designs are on the wavelength of the incoming waves.

  3. While the best coastal defense against high water and destructive waves is to just not build next to the sea, sea walls help protect cities from further eroding their coast. This simplified animation demonstrates how simple geometry of the seawall can provide increased protection from waves. I hope you enjoy!

  4. Sea walls made of what? We can barely maintain bridges. That sand used to be much bigger rocks.
