Had something similar happen with a 750ml bottle of beer I had just brewed. It was far more fun seeing the plastic bottle fall.
I hate when this happens. For some reason it’s mildly infuriating.
As I see it it has to do with all of the following: friction, gravity, periodic motion, dampening, center of mass, misalignment of contact points and rotational axes, resonance, positive feedback, and inverted pendulum.
Please don’t ask me to put all that in some sort of sensible order. 🙂
