Interesting experiment! Did not realize mercury was diamagnetic at room temperature (albeit only slightly apparently).
There’s one telescope that has spinning mercury as it’s main mirror. The advantage is you can change the shape of the mirror simply by changing the speed. The disadvantage is it can only look straight up.
This has been proposed as a possible telescope on the moon.

So if you stack them in counter-rotating shells you get an anti-gravity generator that induces superluminol travel as a handy bi-product.
