The robot arm made for gentle undersea exploration

A soft robotic arm which will enable undersea sea life to be studied in higher information has actually been produced.

Traditional undersea robot arms can be rough and awkward and make it challenging to communicate and deal with fragile marine plants and animals.

The brand-new system has a series of interchangeable flexing, turning and grasping modules to enable the arm to carry out various jobs.

The job includes researchers from the Wyss Institute, Harvard’s John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) University of Rhode Island (URI) and Baruch College.
