  1. This is stupid, dangerous, in the improper lab setting, and the “scientist” is not wearing the proper PPE. I’m going to start reporting HF reactions that are dangerous and appear to have been made just for attention.

  2. This very probably is just hydrogen reacting with oxygen in the air. There might be fluorine coming out of that hose to start the reaction, but the concentration around the balloon is way too low compared with how much hydrogen is in it.
    Maybe I’m wrong and this guy was retarded enough to release large amounts of some of the most violently reacting element into the air and fucking up everything around it not coated in chemically super resistant materials.
