It’s truly astonishing how technologically far humanity has come when something like *this*, a probe sent out close enough to one of *Saturn’s moons*, took such high quality pictures, and put into a stunning gif, is passed up by so many people and only given ~42 upvotes (at the time I saw the post). Just the idea of the amount of technological leaps and hours/years of work that had to be accomplished to come this far is truly amazing to me.
Reminds me of Mystery Science Theater 3000.

What are the white streaks that show up? They look like scratched film, but a probe visiting Mimas obviously wouldn’t be using film.
